Food Drive

During this year’s food drive to benefit the Marion Polk Food Share JGEMS was able to reach an impressive high. Thanks to a lot of potatoes students were quite literally able to bring in a tone of food with the total being almost 2,500lbs!!! Thank you so much to all that participated. Many people all over Salem will be well fed because of you.

Lottery for 2015-16 School Year

Our lottery process for the 6th grade class for the fall of 2015 is as follows:

Thursday, March 5th, 2015, 6:00 PM: Information Night for families. Staff will share a powerpoint presentation and conduct a question and answer session. Applications are then made available.

Friday, March 13th, 3:00 PM: Applications are due to the JGEMS office.

Tuesday, March 17th, 4:00 PM: JGEMS Special Board Meeting - Lottery Draw! All families will then be notified if they got into JGEMS, or what their spot on the waiting list will be.

Letter Writing Campaign and Work-A-Thon

Our annual letter writing fundraising campaign has wrapped up, with an impressive finish! Students were given credit / points for: letters they sent, money returned to JGEMS in their names, and hours worked at our Work-A-Thon. Because of the efforts of many, over $10,000 was raised, and 117 volunteers participated in our Work-A-Thon on the OSD campus. Thank you to Lisa Chipman for organizing this entire event!

Phenology Video
